Everyone is counting the days to the last day of school, for the bell to ring and summer to officially begin. I'm ready for summer time with my new
Justice swimsuits my mom got me on sale for $15 before Spring break. (They are on sale now for $15 so hurry before they sell out) I got to pick out my top 2 favorites and this watermelon tankini was my favorite.
My straw beach hat is from Dollar Tree, you can pick up a few of them and they have lots of different colors available. My mom used a bright pink ribbon she had at home to tie this bow and simply uses a couple stitches of thread to secure it. Wearing a hat in the pool or at the beach is important to protect our face and hair from the damage of the sun. Don't forget sunblock too, I will have more details below on my favorite Sunblock products.
My grandma got me this super cute watermelon beach chair for Easter at
Target. They also have the coolest watermelon coverup if you like to be all matchy. This chair is perfect for the beach because it is low to the ground, I simply use a towel where my legs layout to not get sand all over them and it is perfect for relaxing.
My towel is a
Sand Cloud beach towel, if you haven't heard of these you need to check out their website. They have a lot of fun colors and styles available. Here I have the Aloe color and I love this style towel because you can use it as a sarong or wrap at the beach. When playing in the pool I love to have different floats or pool toys. I have noodles, long floats you can lay on but these are my favorite. Who doesn't love a donut or swan pool float? Last year my mom got us these two at
Target, they also have a pink flamingo and lots of other cute choices.
Some of my favorite Summer time essentials for my beach bag, of course sunblock, it is so important to start young with protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. We live in South Florida and are exposed to the sun every day. When we go to the beach or pool I always use Ocean Potion clear zinc oxide on my face, it is SPF45 and works so good. For my body I love this easy to apply Ocean Potion SPF50 Broad Spectrum Spray. I can apply it myself easily and it not only protects my skin but nourishes it. You can find Ocean Potion at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS and most stores locally.
A hat is also another great way to protect your face especially when in the water, when you are in the water the water reflects sun so you actually are getting more powerful sun so a hat is a must have. I purchase the dollar store ones so if they get wet in the pool or ocean it isn't a downer if it falls apart or gets ruined. My final favorite item for summer time after the pool and beach is this handmade Watermelon Lip scrub. We made these for our mom's at school as their Mother's Day gifts and I love this, my mom also loves it. It helps remove and dry skin, then polishes your lips leaving them super soft and smelling good. Below is an easy to use recipe, make sure to ask your parents before making.
🍉Watermelon Lip Scrub🍉
Ingredients
•Coconut Oil 1TBS
•Sugar 1TSP
•Watermelon Flavored Hard Candy 5-6 crushed hard candies
Crush Watermelon candy in small bowl, add coconut oil and sugar, then mix. If you want to have cute little containers to store it in we found these at the Dollar Tree and you can also find other small containers or jars at Hobby Lobby or other local craft stores.
